Dogs are allowed at a fee in specific accommodations only (Yogi Forest Villa, RV/van life spots & tent camping). Before bringing your furry friend, please make sure to review our dog policy. 

Dogs are allowed in certain accommodations only with a pet fee. Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and ensuring they do not disturb other guests. Pet waste bags are available in dog friendly villas.  No other pets are permitted on site.

All pets must be kept on a leash in common areas or outside of their accommodation.

WiFi connect is now available at the Nest, our outdoor kitchen and workspace.  We will be adding resort wide WiFi in the future.  Cell service is decent in most areas of the resort.  We do hope you unplug and replug into nature and people during your stay. :)

Absolutely! For cabin guests, food must be stored inside. For Pod/RV/camping guests, food is required to be stored in the bathhouse kitchen or in your car due to bears.

We do not sell food onsite. There are a couple local restaurants downtown and a Piggly Wiggly about a mile away.

Alcohol is not sold onsite, but we are BYOB. McDowell County is a dry county, so we encourage you pick up your adult beverages prior to arriving.

Guests must be 18 years of age to make a reservation.

Each pod & villa includes your linens & towels. Glamping pods do not have kitchen areas nor bathrooms. All guests have access to the shared bathhouse & kitchen area. Bathhouse bathrooms provide toiletries & shower products. For those indulging in wellness experiences, consider bringing a swimsuit for the sauna and cold plunge.

Although we have not seen them onsite, we have found evidence of bears passing through. Bears are extremely common in Western NC, so it is important you follow the food policy to reduce the probability of unsafe bear encounters.

So much! From scenic drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway to hiking, waterfalls, and mountain biking in Pisgah and DuPont forests, adventure is all around us. Explore charming downtown towns like Asheville (great food & breweries), Hendersonville (apple orchards), and Bryson City (Scenic Railroad). In every season, there’s something special—fall colors, winter skiing, spring wildflowers, and summer tubing. 

Within Old Fort, check out Catawba Falls (one of the most stunning waterfalls in the US) & Point Lookout Trail for a ride or hike a paved 3.6‑mile greenway with ridge views. Go Mountain Biking in the epic Gateway Trail systems or enjoy some fishing in Curtis Creek. Cap your adventures off with some local flavors at Hillman Beer & Whaley Farm Brewery.

Wunderland Resort is approximately a 25-minute drive from downtown Asheville.

Each pod brings its own unique experience, fitting 2-4 guests. Inside each you will find a sleeping area with full electricity, heating/cooling temp control, and private outdoor area. The pods do not have private refrigerators or bathrooms, but guests have access to the bathhouse that features a full kitchen with commercial fridge and full bathrooms. Additionally, each accommodation comes with a locking mechanism to ensure guests safety and comfort.

Check in is 3 pm & check out is 11 am.

For all reservations, we will offer refunds up to 30 days prior to a booking, and have a no refund policy within the 30 day window that precedes the first day of your booking. We will offer to reschedule your booking within the 30 day window, or give you a voucher that’s good for up to 1 year. Reschedules or vouchers will not be offered to anyone cancelling within 24 hours of their reservation, or anyone that does not show up on the day and time of their reservation.

Refunds are only issued if WE have to cancel a reservation due to extreme weather as stated by the National Weather Service, or for any unforeseen circumstance that may arise the day of the reservation.

Smoking is only permitted within the community firepit area. All butts must be disposed of in the firepit.

Small propane firepits are permitted in RV & primitive camping sites. All pods & cabins include a small propane fireplace. No other firepits are permitted, but all guests have access to the community firepit.

Our “Yogi Cabin” is wheelchair accessible with private parking near the cabin.

Yes! Wunderland is great for small intimate getaways to family vacations! Core memories are waiting to be made.

Yes! A 20-amp electric service plug is provided at each RV site.

Amenities include access to the Nest, our outdoor kitchen area that oversees the beautiful pound, community firepit and bathhouse. Additionally, all guests have access to our wellness area that includes a sauna, natural cold plunge & outdoor fitness area.

Shared dining area, a BBQ grill, coffee bar and a small beverage fridge.
