We’re going to take you on our magical mystery tour that we’ll call The Wunderland Story.

Founder Shawn Verbrugghe spent the last 16 years dedicating his career-life to help reverse climate change, and most of his free time creating unique experiences for people.

His challenge was finding the One Thing that would truly allow him to live a life on purpose, utilizes his skills and fulfilling his passions. So he quit his corporate career to researched hundreds of sustainable-related businesses, all the while continuing his tour company and speaking on sustainability.

The AHA Moment - What if he could marry immersive experiences and building together to create deeper connections – with nature, with family, with friends old and new, and most importantly – within ourselves? What if he could create unique games, shared adventures, bespoke architecture, and crazy-cool art that all render us feeling truly alive and refresh our gratitude for life? And what if all this could be wrapped in a blanket of health and wellness? The answer was to build an eco-adventure resort, and poof - Wunderland Resort was born!A unique vision that centers around Connection, Experiences and Sustainability was realized and the Wunderland team purchased a beautiful 35-acre tract of land in Old Fort, NC from the sweetest people in the world.

The process of building Wunderland Resort has been completely transformational for the team, and they feel truly blessed for this opportunity. Wunderland is now a community style outdoor resort that focuses on wellness for people and planet.
